Should she go to Columbia University?

My daughter got accepted (early decision) by Columbia University, however she is not sure if she want to accept this offer or not. She got into the engineering program (SEAS) at Columbia University, but we as parents would pay a lot of money for this undergrad program. We don't know Columbia (as compare to waterloo or u of t or mcmaster here in Canada) is worth spending this much money? Although Columbia is part of ivy league, it is not known for it's engineering program (although their rank have being improving). She believe by going to Columbia, she will receive the necessary connections and expand her horizon. But if she goes for the uw coop program, she can come out of the university debt free.

p.s. should she even accept columbia at all? or should she refuse and try for regular decision for harvard / yale / mit?
