All 5 years car can drive for 1-2 years without repair. Most people who say that are certainly keeping the car longer than that.
Kia Rio is a poor quality car. Better buy an older Japanese car, which is more reliable. Moreover, its 2nd hand value drop more as well after 2 years, especially you really spend $0 to maintain it.
From what I see is that this car's painting, rim, head lights, rear lights (like brake, reverse, etc), and both bumpers are made of low quality material. Examine Kia Rio which parks at road side carefully. Nobody going to arrest you to look at it
