I eventually got my first D-SLR...
bought from Simon's. Not a bad deal, I'd say. After a long weekend (feels like it.:0), I received my camera along with two lenses (17-40 and 70-200) and a little spare battery at near 5:00 PM. I thought it would not come today. I almost gave up. :-D
Same as everyone of you. The first moment of a joy. I could not think of anything else, but open the box. I quickly assemblied the camera with the 70-200 lens. and here you go, my first serious shot. A cat I am currently looking after, friends away. All, I can say is: SHARP! I'd never get this crisp photos off my S400 for sure. :-D Photo info: Camera Model Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT Shooting Date/Time 5/31/2005 8:32:37 AM Shooting Mode Aperture-Priority AE Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/20 Av( Aperture Value ) 4.0 Metering Mode Evaluative Metering Exposure Compensation 0 ISO Speed 100 Lens 70.0 - 200.0mm Focal Length 200.0mm Image Size 3456x2304 Image Quality RAW Flash Off White Balance Mode Auto AF Mode One-Shot AF Parameters Settings Contrast Mid. You have a very corperative model.
#1 has some motion blur but #2 comes out good. You can shoot at least at ISO400 and that will give you much faster shutter speed without having too much noise.Congradulations. Enjoy your new camera and post more photos. |

For landscape work, I would prefer to have filters first. Without filters, I feel like naked. :-D I have not yet got my filters. Once I got them, I will be up to speed. Anyways, I hope we can improve together. |

He is co-operative?! Are you kidding? I spent as much as 2 hours to capture a few shots. I wish I had a F/2.8L lenses. *$* At this moment, he was just simply having a break after an hour of naughty and destructive actions. (my poor flowers...) You are right, I should have used ISO400. I...I forgot. :-( The joy was so much that I was a bit out of my mind... I was getting a little bit of perfectionism at that moment. As you can see, I used mirror lockup to reduce the vibration, and also used 2 sec self timer to prevent the virbration caused by clicking the shutter. and I used a very heavy tripod too. All that results one thing, a vibration free shot. That was why this photo was sharp. :-D I will try to take more photos when I can. However, I don't think I could keep up with you people. As I said long time ago, I bought this camera was mainly for recording moments in my trips. I travel as often as I can, and I don't want to miss a thing because of a bad camera. I don't consider myself a productive photographers as the way you guys are. I am somewhat more of a rigid explorer. or may I say? :-D |
