In case you do not know this yet, here is list of existing Canon ultra wide angle L primes:
EF 14/2.8L USM
EF 24/1.4L USM
EF 35/1.4L USM
and with the crop factor of 1.6x, the wide end of the new ef-s 8-20 is about 11mm on a FF. so pretty close, I'd say. besides, without a confirming review, I think the insane 8mm may not be usable in serious photography.
Although I think 1.6x sensors are here to stay, I doubt Canon will develop a set of ultra wide angle primes for these cameras.

I do know these primes but I'm talking about wide angle for FF sensor. It may perform well on 1.6x body but none of them give reasonable corner performance on FF such as 1Ds Mk II. From what I see on FM, lens from Leica, CZ or Olympus outperforms Canon ones by far on FF body.
