I do not think that the soldiers tried to target any students. Most people killed were Beijing residents, not students. I saw that some Beijing residents had fierce fight with the soldiers because they hated to see them. The students basically were very well organized and tried to avoid any direct fight with the soldiers. I was told that nobody was killed when Tiananmen Square was finally cleared because one guy I know left in the last group. Some people were beaten when they walked away from the line. It is not true that 死了3-4千人. However, the government was responsible for any casualty. It is also not true that The soldiers stayed only in Tiananmen Square in the first a few days because the government was scared and did not know what they expected. The injured and dead people were sent to the hospitals right away by all kinds of people except soldiers. I have to say these people were very brave. They risked their lives to save the lives of other people.
It was a tragedy for Chinese because some innocent people were killed by their own soldiers and government. Neither the government nor the students knew how to make any compromise. The students did not have the final goals. The government did not know how to handle it. We still have a lot to learn. Let's move on. We sure will never forget it. 引用:

I was there (Tian An Men Square) to the end of May. After June 4, I went to the place where the dead students were placed for recognition.
I was in the whole event except the day of June 4. Think of the whole thing. You can compare it to the color revolutions in recent years. I think that the government did the right thing although it may seems to be crude to many people. Think if the government were dismantled at that time, China would be under the control of US. China will be nothing in the world. Rethink the whole thing. A US-preferred democracy will create a crack for US to make big influences to China easily. Also, look at China, it is not the prime time for democracy in China. Democracy is not good for China right now. It will need several generations. |
