1 多大的宝宝才可以入托toddle，一天收费多少？
答：通常一岁半以上。就我知道的，收小于一岁半的有，是Cityhall，CU或OU的,ALGONQUIN的幼儿园，很贵，1400-1500左右。一岁半Toddler，大于900元，每月。

2 入公立的安省幼儿园要不要排期。在渥太华一般要排多久？
答：Public （group） Daycare 是属于非赢利的Board， 名字记不清了，类似于School Board。自费的不用排很长，每个Daycare情况不一样，１　ｗｅｅｋ－６月。要排很长对的是SUBSIDE的位置。subsidy归Ottawa city管（申请subsidy去Ottawa subsidy Office,City of Ottawa - Financial Help Subsidy）。每个Daycare有不同数量的subsidy的位置。

3 在Carling 和 Richmond 附近那个幼儿园好一点，请推荐。
答：不知道。如果有空位给你的话，Daycare都会提供一次visting。亲身感觉最重要，尤其是对老师们的感觉，和整个Daycare的气氛。有一本Ｏ－Ｃ　Daycare的小册子，有所有的Daycare地址，电话和基本信息，每年出一次，可能能在图书馆借到。好象Earlｙ　Ｅｄｕｃａｔｉｏｎ　Ｃｅｎｔｅｒ有卖的。

4 宝宝在家都讲中文，一般多大要放入幼儿园，我怕放得太晚与人沟通有问题
答：说实话，最不用担心的就是英语，3-4岁的孩子可以很快学会交流。怕的是，2，3个月后，孩子会开始习惯用英语。

Home Daycare（Licenced）：
答：No age limit，每天30-60不等。推荐省政府出资的Agency， Andrew Fleck （可能拼错），一般在Earlｙ　Ｅｄｕｃａｔｉｏｎ　Ｃｅｎｔｅｒ都有他的介绍或办公室。他会根据你的住址和你的要求提供Home Daycare。他家有一套管理守则，并统一收费。

另外:
1.如果已经知道某个Daycare适合，尽量早打电话，把名字列在Waiting list上。一般来说，如果有空位，他们会提前通知的。

2.9,10月份，因为有上学的小朋友离开（毕业），空位会多。

3.如果要subsidy,要早些在多个Daycare登记，一定告诉你想要subsidy spot。虽然去City申请要时间，但是只要符合条件City就会批，而真正等的是在Daycare的subsidy空位。

這daycare centre的waiting list 最少一年。home daycare就很用易找，你去Ottawa babysitter, caregiver & nanny jobs - Free Ottawa Classifieds at Kijiji就随时找到一大堆。

Second, a question:
I have a baby girl almost 1 year a half, I had put her in central waiting list for a few months (for all Kanata daycare), but I did not hear anything yet.

It seems I am only left with two choice: one is home care, one is Montessori. (Are there any other option?)

Does anyone (friends) have experienc in putting 1 year and half in Kanata Montessori? Thanks.

Any comment is highly appreciated.

How are the fee subsidy rules changing? Effective January 1, 2007, income testing was introduced in the Province of Ontario. To apply for subsidy, you must file an income tax return as the information shown on Line 236 on your most recent Notice of Assessment/ Reassessment, and the amount of your Universal Child Care Benefit (if applicable) will be used to calculate the amount you will have to pay for Child Care. If you are a recent immigrant to Canada, you can still apply but you will need to provide this information when you file your first tax return.
Assets and expenses will no longer be considered under the income test. If you already receive a fee subsidy, your fee will be recalculated when you come for your next scheduled review. An exception may be made at your first review if you have a child or children under the age of six; however your Notice of Assessment/ Reassessment is still mandatory.

收一岁以下小宝宝的不止这两个，比如ALGONQUIN的幼儿园收一岁以下的。新妈妈最
好自己多去查查，不要就此停止找DAYCARE

安省没有公立的DAYCARE。所有DAYCARE都是私立的，不是SUBSIDE位置才难排，有的
DAYCARE一般位置都要排很久。最过分得有等了3年的，是KANATA的一个DAYCARE。所
以新妈妈要早早的给宝宝排上

Municipal Child Care Centres (公立的DAYCARE)

The City of Ottawa operates 17 child care centres that provide quality child care for children between the ages of six weeks and 10 years of age.

The child care centres are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. They offer both full fee and subsidized spaces. The centres provide planned, supervised indoor and outdoor activities as well as nutritious meals. Professionally trained staff provide individual attention within a group setting and are trained to deal with an assessed developmental and/or physical delay. Even for private daycare centres (私营), there are For-profit (盈利) ones and Not-for-profit (非盈利)ones. Usually the ones that have long waiting list are Not-for-profit one because they will reinvest the profit to the centres and they maybe also receive funding from the government or donations from other organizations, so the facilities are usually better and often they offer extra programs which might not be too profitable but beneficial to the children and families.

You actually get the space (位置) before you apply for subsidy.
