I'm not dentist, but I had that problem when I was a kid (6 or 7), and the dentist did fill the hole and fix the tooth for me. If the problem gets worse, it can infect the gum surrounding the tooth, and it will be serious problem. When the dentist fills the hole, s/he will also drill the tooth to prevent it go further.
