Well written! A few comments: 1) Never start a sentence with "but". Some sentences also need to be re-structured. 2) If your intention is to give this letter to the school administrative staff, use "you" instead of "we" just because it is more appealing. 3) Last 2 paragraphs can be combined, and ease up on the emotional slogans. ![]() 4) Be assertive, and use facts rather than emotions. |

I sent an e-mail to the university information center two weeks ago. In the e-mail I complained the French lanaguage problem of the website, especially the "symboise". Today I got the reply from a technician who receirved my e-mail. He is just responsible for the student computer accounts, and does not have the right to change the website language, but he has transfered my e-mial to the director.
Now, I get the phone number and e-mail of the director who is responsible for the wholed department of Information and Public Relation Service. I was told that maybe he can help to do something if we Chinese students all complain to him about the language problem of the website. Suggestion: All of the Chinese students send e-mail or call him as soon as possible! His e-mail and phone number are shown as following: L'équipe du SIRP Claude Boudreau Directeur par intérim (819) 595-3960 Claude.Boudreau@uqo.ca |

Boudreau 回信了,我们该怎么办?大家出主意吧!
Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for your letter and concern for the Website. The University is currently studying the situation surrounding English language programs and services at the UQO. For the time being we do not have the resources to develop a multilingual Website. We will be reviewing the English section of the Website this Fall, this will however be limited to course descriptions and presentation of the University. Again thank you for your concern about English services at UQO.

MBA。。。 Dear President: We would like to ask you to consider a project to create an English-version web site for our university. UQO is a famous French-speaking university with a few graduate programs to be taught in English, such as, MPM, MBA, CMA etc. These programs have grown rapidly in recent years in that more and more non-French speaking students and/or prospective students are attracted to this program. These students are expecting the university to provide special services for them. Having an English-version web site is one of the expectations. There are two reasons for such a request. First, the non French-speaking students, specifically the minority students like us who are not grown in the French-speaking environment, are difficult to utilize the information from the UQO's website, especially the "symbiose" that is provided only by French, due to lack of capability of using French language. As a result, the current French-version web site fails to be fully unitized. Secondly, the administrative staff and the faculty have to take extra time to repeat explaining the information that the web site has already addressed, in English, to us who don’t understand French. If there is an English version for our web site, the staff and the faculty will be able to save the time and conduct their core businesses. As a result, the staff and the faculty will be more productive. In addition, a well-informed English version of the website will improve UQO’s image and help it to win an international reputation. As a result, more people from different cultural and ethical backgrounds will be able to apply the school. A larger enrollment will then result in more subsidies and funding from governments and large companies. With regards to the above, it is strongly recommended that UQO provide an English version of the website of the university in the foreseeable future. We appreciate your attention on this issue. Yours faithfully! This letter is agreed by these following people (Signatures): |
