KyLinTV is REALLY Pissing Me Off! (zt) I have been with KyLinTV for a while now and I am really getting tired of all their service problems! I can understand some initial issues with the service. Streaming video can be difficult to perfect and impossible to fully control with the Internet the way it is. However, the video encoding quality has never improved, the syncronization problems with audio/video have never been improved and the "buffering" issues are so frequent that 85% or more of the time it is unwatchable. The recent channel outages have been frustrating. I can understand they are out of KyLin's control. But these other issues are 100% their responsiblity. It is a great idea which has been only moderately well executed. Now, onto my next issue with KyLinTV. I find it amusing that they are offering the Phoenix premium channels for free while we are all stuck with major station outages. Especially since there is a scrolling banner declaring you have not subscribed and every few minutes you get a nag screen trying to get you to subscribe for an additional fee! Wow, thanks for that "freebie" to make up the inconvience ;-) Oh, but don't forget you get FREE VOD blockbusters! What B.S. Ok, maybe not entirely B.S. there are several shows to choose from, most lasting only a few minutes. These are mostly old, lame and uninteresting content that nobody want to watch or has already seen if they have been back to China in the past couple of years! I would rather KyLin gives us nothing than a bunch of junk shows and claim they are "BLOCKBUSTERS!" So how much bandwidth does a person need to get KyLinTV without buffering? Well, from what I can tell not even 22.5mbps/1.6mbps is enough. Maybe KyLinTV needs to distribute servers in more areas on better backbones? I don't know, is it latency, bandwidth or equipments that is the problem? I would love to know! Until my next post... BUFFERING ((((((((((( http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache...nk&cd=10&gl=ca |
