准备买辆车子，因为不懂车，一上网查又被诸多的厂家，型号，和评论搞昏了头。此车为家里唯一的车子，主要是周末和夏天出游代步用，平时极少用。所以公里数一年大约一万左右。现在家里五口，包括一个teenager和两个老人。预算最好不超过三万（全部费用），二手车应为２００５年或更新， 性能可靠，安全就行了，其它都不重要。恳请懂车的或有亲身体会的朋友赐教。多谢了。

If you want to spend all 30k, you can think about Malibu, G6, or Aura

Since your have 5 family members, a car is too crowded for you. You'd better buy a van to get more room and pleasure. Since you have $30K budget, you'd better select a brand new vehicle. GM Uplander and GM Pontiac Montana are good choice. For regular base (shorter model), it's less than $20K, for regular base (longer model), it's about $24K, plus 0% finacial. You save $5K-10K, compare to Japan brand van.

Get a used 2006 toyota or honda van from dealer.It is still under warranty. Nothing to worry about.
They are about 3w and very reliable. Good for a person don't know anything about cars.

If you don't like japanese that is another story.

Just got a suggestion on Mazda 5, a compact minivan. Can anybody make some comments on it?

IT is good
But it is smaller than the toyota van and use almost same amount of gas. If you put 5 person in, there is no much space for other thing. It is cheaper to buy when it is new. Mazada's reliabity is better than US cars but lower than toyota and honda.

日系车总体上做工稍细，故障率也稍低。但考虑到同档配置$5K-$10K的差价，还真需要掂量掂量。人们会想，我不会运气这么差，拿到一辆三天两头出大毛病的车，以至几年内要花$5K-$10K修理吧？在我认识的此处的国人里面，第一辆车几乎清一色买的是日系车。但买第二辆车的，没有一个是日系车。盖因想明白了这个道理。

较新的二手车我首选美国车了,我觉得质量比较好,做工比较细致的美国车应该算Buik的RendeuVou了,拼写大概是这样的.最多可以做7个人的crossover,口碑不错,二手的价钱又很便宜,应该是很好的选择了.impala也很不错.

My opinion is avoid US car. Choose Japanese, or Europe brand. A used car should bw within your budget.

US car may give more accesories, but after 3 years, easily has minor things to repair. The labor charge is the main consideration, but not the spare part price.

Full size sedan should be able to fit 5. If you want more space, then SUV, MPV, or crossover.
