Head Gasket leak

I sent my Camry to Toyota dealer for maintenance. They told me there
is a leak at Head Gasket. It's over 500$ to replace it.

Is the problem serious?

if you care your car, it is better to fix the problem depend on which year car is. if is worth to cost $500 to repare it.

The part is only $90, and need one hour labour ($80 for Toyota?). If beyond warrent, you can go to Canadian tire to fix it, or even go to any cheap garage (labour is $50).

看漏到啥程度,要两三个月一瓶机油那种漏法,实际无所谓.
咱以前的老车漏了5年油, 跑了3万公里,也没缸裂.

Where's that gasket? Is it at the bottom of the enginne?

For most cars, the gasket is at the top of engine, just under engine head. However, the most difficut for this kind of job is the strenhth and the order when you finish the job and tie the screws. To loose, it will leak again; and too tight, you may break the engine head. You can borrow a book from liberary to read and work out yourself. And you may buy a special wrench with a guage.
