卫星电视的安装是不是也象CABLE那样需要事先在房里布线什么的?或者是无线的?

Cable布线还是有必要的。尽管可以无线，但是有线的比无线的稳定，速度也要快不少。
卫星电视没有必要事先做准备。安装卫星的公司一般都管免费安装。自己装也不是太麻烦。不过这要请教丫丫领导了。

卫星电视影响大，外面下大雪，电视下小雪。
卫星上网的速度有限。

If the bell agent company install satellite for you they will drill a hole ont he wall. Is that correct? Pre-arrange the cable may avoid theis situation. Who had the satellite box prepared when buying a new home? thx

我的房子就是预先按好的,这样BELL来按装时只要把DISH接到预留的线上就行了.具体情况是这样:不管是卫星还是CABLE,在你需要的房间都要装插头(JACK).总进线(卫星或CABLE)一般在地下室,如果是卫星,就把相应的线接到通JACK的线上,如果用CABLE就把CABLE接上,这样比较灵活.
卫星的好处是很清晰(数字信号,当然现在也有DIGITAL CABLE),即使不是HIGH DEFINITION的RECEIVER(个人认为TOO EXPENSIVE,现在没必要,除非你是"发烧友"),节目选择也比较多,但每个电视都要买一个RECEIVER.当然你也可以用一个RECEIVER,但所有电视同时只能看同样的频道.关于天气对卫星电视的影响,一般来说下雨没什么影响,下大雪可能会中断信号.这个冬天以来,我只碰到过两次信号中断的现象,NO BIG DEAL.

In fact, satellite signals are much clearer than cable signals because it is digital. The effect of weather on the satellite signals? Virtually none.

Satellite highspeed? For what I know, it's only used in areas where no cable or adsl is available, AND uploading is still dialup speed.

Yes they drilled a hole through the siding to my basement. It's just a small hole that's big enough for the wire to come in, but it's a free installation. Such upgrade would probably cost you at least 100 bucks.

I'm also curious to know, how could the builder make the wire available for hookup?

渐渐说得对,数字信号不象模拟信号有干扰的现象(雪花),但信号可能中断,要么有,要么没有,that's it.

It's not the builder. It's the security monitoring companies that can do this kind of wiring.

我比较了一下,好象同样的PACKAGE,卫星电视要比数字电视便宜,而且给我房子布线的公司说如果我通过他们公司安装卫星电视,他们可以免费给我多装几个PHONE JACK 和CABLE OUTLET,就不用缴钱UPGRADE了.但不知道BELL的高速上网速度怎么样?还有,大家是怎么实现多个房间上网的呢?(除了WIRLESS)

Do you mean there is a outside jack already built by house builder and your security monitor company just come to set up the connecvtio for you? I don't know if you will have default outside jack ready for cable when buying house or is it a upgrade.

BTW: Do your guys get the new bell dish for receiving two Nimiq 82 & 91 satellites at the same time. I was told that Chinese City Tv will moved from Nimiq 91 to 82 soon.

我不知道别的builder如何,我的所有的线都是保安公司来给装好的,当然要付给他们钱,但一般来说builder只是给你装好线的rough-in,如果请电话公司来还得另交钱,所以是一样的,除非你自己能把所有的线都装好.
关于第二个问题,我不知道,因为我不看中文电视.但我想如果你要看中文的话,不管用那个卫星,他们一定会让你接收到
