房子正在建，builder建议rough in security system， 不知道有无必要？
Security公司要布线费500+加税。 他们说，有线的好，更安全。
可朋友用无线的，免了布线钱。

请教给位，是有线的好，还是一样？ 以后，有线和无线，月费一样吗？

This is just something I heard: you don't need to upgrade the security roughin from builder, most alarm companies will do it for free.

I actually don't think having a security monitoring system is a good idea. Would your insurance company give you the same amount of discount that equates to the money you spend each year on security monitoring? Would the security company stop a breakin in progress? Why bother? Put up a sticker saying "this house is protected by xxx", and let it be the end of that.

Wireless system may end up costing you more for the installation since you need extra components(maybe a hundred bucks).

The security company will give you very limited discount if you have the rough in, for my case, they only give me $20 even though I paid 300 bucks for the rough in...of course, if you don't want more construction work after you move in, rough in is a good idea...

价钱多少主要看有多少sensors。。不过499好像贵了点儿。29.95应该就是市场价，有个公司收25，你听 580 news，他们每天做广告。。

因为ADT也在 Tyco 旗下，我的监控费是半价，每月15。

另外还有，1999年夏，温哥华 Richmond 一户台湾移民，小两口，清晨有人敲门，开门后被绑，被抢走珠宝首饰和一部价值十万的宝马汽车。屋主没有受到伤害。

上周多伦多一个妇女在街上某个名为California的快餐店买Sandwich时，被黑帮流弹打中背部，瘫痪了。

This is not the reason The insurance company may give you, at most, 25% discount. For example, you pay 400/yr for the house insurance, 25% *400 = 100 /12 month < 10/month...but you have to pay 25--30 for the monitoring fee...

The security system can give you a peaceful mind
