稍微好点儿

我又作了个图(见下)，从效率来讲，位置1最高，3最差。因为3的位置不能阻挡从玻璃出来的冷气,有如给一个放在室内的冰上上下加个被子。 1的效率最高，但如要用壁炉就比较麻烦，要到外面开(这天气不容易)，如忘了还能造成危险，最好在壁炉下的点火开关附近放一个标签，提醒不知道的人和自己，外面烟筒有障碍物。

其实我想只要在位置2处，即燃烧室的出口处放一个可燃的薄纸片(甚至两层中间留空)用胶带纸封严，应该有相当的效率，因为燃烧处被封成了两个含空气的死腔如双层玻璃，没有交换。要用时也不用取出，因为应该薄纸很容易被烧掉，也不用担心燃烧问题，安装时只要打开壁炉的前玻璃板就可以很容易安装。
BTW，以上主意我并没有实践过，仅供参考，如有不当，后果自负。

才知道有“燃烧室”和“交换区”之分，以为就一个腔。我说的铁皮条该是所谓"交换区”的通风口吧。

不可能，你想往屋里漏气是个多么严重的事情，当然我只知道烧气的，别的没见过。


我把渐渐的图编辑了一下，红色代表燃烧室，蓝色代表和室内相通的交换区，应该一看就明白了。如果不开火，则热交换的箭头正好相反(红向内蓝向外)，室内的暖气经交换变成冷气灌回室内。

不过，我一直担心拣来得柴禾你有虫子，最怕的就是白蚁。

兄弟，fire starter 和fire wood两码事儿，报纸上有不少广告啊。

A box of six compressed fire logs sell at about 25 dollars at Homedepo or Canadiantire. Some of these logs can burn for 3 hours. They leave little ash, too. They don't give out as much heat as real firewood does, but fireplaces are not for heating in the first place.

I've heard that fireplaces are for the heating supplement in the familly room during cold winter.I really want to know when or how often do you guys use the fireplace? is it just a decoration ? Can someone kindly give out his/hers precious opinion. Because I just bought a new house. Thank you so much

I use the fireplace on Friday nights or Saturday nights. I don't use it for heat. I just enjoy sitting by it in quiet nights.

That's true. I like firewood, too. It's more fun to burn real wood, but I also like the compressed fire logs for their convenience. They don't take up as much storage space, they burn for a long time and they don't make as big a mess.

Well it does provide some heat, so you can turn down the house temperature just little bit, and keep a fireplace burning in the room you do stay. But this is all in theory, in reality we never turn down the temperature just because we use the fireplace.

If you have a wood-burning fireplace, then you are in luck: that does provide a lot of heat, enough to heat up an entire room.

I used mine all the time last winter, this winter, only a couple of times so far.
