I have a DSC 1550 home alarm system. Right now, it connects to a monitoring station. I don't want the monitoring service any more, but still want to keep local alarm.

I called the installer, but he wanted to charge me 50$. I am apparently mad at this.

I searched on web, here is a link for user manual

but it didn't tell me how to do that.

Further search showed:
Disable Telephone Line Monitoring:
*, 8, 5010, 015, 7, ##.

But still not sure the procedure.

Any help will be appreciated!

或者你买个模块，把alarm接到自己的手机上，这样你就自己可以monitor了。

We also use cellular network monitoring. It's provided by Bell. It's going to cost more than using phone line though, but in many areas, phone line can easily be cut by the robber and the monitoring station won't poll very often so they might not know until very late.
