Thanks lot. It is helpful. Simply speaking, equal plan only does good to Enbridge, although it sounds good to consumers. In practice, they can play around 'over-charge" every month until the end of the period. Financially, they have many factors to get benefit from it without sharing any with you, one of the consumers. Equal billing is mostly for the benefit of vast majority of Canadian consumers who live pay cheque to pay cheque and most likely to struggle with hefty gas bills in the winter had they not been put on the equal billing. Plus if the annual bill is evenly spred over the 11 month period, it's easier to manage the bills and budgeting too.
I don't see anything particularly wrong with the plan. If you are not happy with it, you can always call them or write to them to cancel it. You do have the choice. The gas service provider so far is only Enbridge, however you do have the choice of buying gas from a marketer. But you can't get away from getting billed from Enbridge and charged for their service fees. |
