If I buy a resale house, do I need to pay GST/pst for the house? How much?

GST should be included in the purchase price. Never heard about PST.

No there is no GST/PST at resale home. You only need to pay land transfer tax.

It's better consult professional service, when you buy resale, you might be liable for seller's capital gain tax.

这是买方和卖方律师管的事. 一般发生在卖方是非居民或商业房产的情况. 我们买房子的人不必在这些事上烦心. 我们花钱找律师买TITLE INSURANCE, 就是为了避免这些麻烦事. 一旦律师出错发生问题,也是律师的责任. 律师从业也要买责任险. 出事保险公司负责. TITLE INSURANCE 是第二道防线. 加那大房产交易比美国规范的多. 只要大家找律师按规定办事不必担心有什么麻烦.

Except title insurance, what else check and insurance are needed for a resale house?

The title insurance costs only about 250. Other than insurance you need a lawyer.
the lawyer will do the title search and other things. Normally you will buy title insurance from the lawyer. Total cost is about 1,500 including lawyer fee..

Plus land transfer tax and some property tax If you buy 300,000 house. 5,000 should be enought for all.
