You are Canadian why you need to give them your Chinese passport. Tell they you already through it away since according Chinese law, once you become Canadian citizen you no longer Chinese citizen, they should treat you same as other Canadian. They never did it before, they should not do it now. Otherwise you will file a complain to Canadian foreign minister.

I don't know what they are thinking. Even you are still Chinese citizen, you lost your passport, they should give you one.

One lady gave me a checklist. She unchecked hotel reservation and wrote down old Chinese passport.
