Backyard Deck question

Plan to build a deck in my backyard. The size is about 12 feet X20 feet, height is about 4~5 feet. The deck will be free-stand, not attached to the wall.
Can i use deck block to support the deck, or should i dig hole and pour in concrete to install pole?
where can i buy gravel?
Any comments, advise are highly appreciated.

If you are professional deck builder, you are welcome to give me a qoute for the site preparation. or the deck as a whole.
call me: 613-867-5990
Thanks.

for the size and hight, deck block wouldn't work. And you need a permit for it.

by the way my deck is 12 X 20. I feel it is too big and takes too much space from yard. I don't have the choice since I got it with my house. 12 x 12 or 12 x16 may be better size. you basically need a space for a table and a bbq. Usually a dinning room is 11x12 and add space for a BBQ 11 x 3. 11x15 could be a perfect size.
