depends on how much the seller claims on the shipping document. If seller claims as gift and only $40-50, you probably won't be charged for any tax or only $50*15%=$7.5 tax. But since you don't know seller, if you ask seller to do that and the seller replaces your goods with something else, you have to be responsible for all the lose. So you decide it. By th way, no matter which way you use to ship, CanadaPost, UPS, by air or ground, you will be charged for 15% tax. |

first, the seller in US ususally allow you to pay by paypal which is free. I only buy stuff from the sellers who allow using paypal, because paypay covers you up to $1250 if you don't receive your stuff or receive the wrong things. So I use "can be paied by paypal" as a standard to check the seller's credit.
Second, paying tax or not really depends on the size of the thing you buy and your luck. I bought 11 things from ebay so far, not paying tax once. But all the things I bought are small. |
