由於 本人两岁半的小孩凌晨独自起来，将眼角撞在床棱上，眼睛当时肿大变青。由於小孩疼得紧闭眼睛，所以当时无法判断是眼内出血还是眼角。本人当时因公外出，太太只好叫救护车， 当时连救护车随车人员也认为要送。 现在我们收到账单说，到医院后，医生认为是“NO ESSENTIAL“ 所以我们要付240 CAN$。他们不是以事发时的情况为准！经过与CHEO 和MP 办公室的联系，最后被告知这是”POLICY ISSUE“钱我们还得付！有不少类似CASES。气愤之余，也写出来，希望同胞别再受同样的气。

I asked the same question to them, no one took this dare. and no one told us we should not call the ambulance, they just told you this is the doctor's words! But when the thing happened, where was the doctor!

for the second:
I think you should not take this risk to call a taxi instead of ambulance, since if you are in a REAL emergency case, you do need some special care under the way to the hospital.

I was in CHEO emergency room with my friend's kid long time ago, also a very bad experience. Maybe the only thing you can do is: pray not to go to any hospital.

他们说的“NO ESSENTIAL“ 是什么意思？ But every time you use the ambulance , you have to pay for it. Minimum is $50 or more. It depends.

This is a kind of "user fee", I guess. I'd have no problem with that as long as it stands as a policy.

do you have OHIP? it should cover most of it and leave you a bill of $45 ... I have used a a few times

注意：OHIP，医院，和救护是三个不同的机构

救护车拉人到医院，不管什么情况，医院都要付给救护一笔钱

如果病人情况达到OHIP支付救护车费用的话，医院向OHIP收钱，当然病人还是要出一部分的，这部分由Employee的附加医疗保险支付

如果病人情况达不到必须使用救护车的程度，医院收不到OHIP的钱，只能让病人自己买单
