筹备数月的第二届亚洲文化节（FestivAsia）将在9月初撩开面纱。文化节活动定于9月9日、10日两天在唐人街的停车场（Somerset & Cambridge ）举行，整个活动的主题是： 亚洲文化、食品、风俗、商品、艺术展示。届时，数十个食品、商品、艺术品等摊位琳琅满目，代表着8个国家的17个文艺团体将给观众献上多姿多彩的亚洲风情。

首日的开幕仪式热闹隆重，多次为加拿大皇家骑警队演唱并屡屡获奖的女歌唱家以独唱《加拿大国歌》拉开序幕，市长，市议员及中国大使馆官员将发表讲话。

这次文化节将继承以往文化节的风格，突出文艺演出的魅力。首日将有四个小时的文艺演出，有越南传统服装表演伴着动听的越南歌曲，日本舞蹈团的民间舞蹈将使您了解日本民间舞蹈的精髓，现有的上百个流派中最著名的“藤间流”、“花柳流”的舞派将让您大开眼界；北国歌舞团也派出了强大的阵容参演，百看不厌的集体舞，男声独唱、小乐队演奏的乐曲会令您大饱耳福和眼福；华侨服务处的四十二式太极剑，不仅展示了表演者的动作柔和连贯，也体现了锻炼身体的本意；菲律宾民间舞蹈团献上的舞蹈特点是服装俏丽、舞姿欢快；而具有30年历史的韩国“李大师武术队” 则是武风遒劲、跌宕。

第二天文艺表演绝不亚于前一天。警察歌手Dominic的自弹自唱、东方舞蹈团的舞蹈、文体俱乐部的剑术以及扇舞定会令您赏爱不己。缅甸艺术团的泼水舞跳出了小伙、姑娘的情感义深,具有迷人的乡土气息。 斯里兰卡、印度歌舞艺术团表演的歌舞具有很浓的民间风味，生动秒趣。英姿舞社的小朋友们呈献的少儿舞蹈活泼、可爱，生动的舞姿与童真气息将融化在一张张稚嫩的小脸上。 除了歌舞，观众还能欣赏到叶芷琦小姐等人表演的古筝独奏、重奏节目。

总之，二天的艺术节将唐人街营造出“艺术的盛会、亚洲的文化”的独特风景线，让渥太华市民亲身体验亚洲文化的魅力。免费观赏节目.

The Somerset Business Improvement Association will be hosting the second annual FestivASIA, "Set Off Your Senses", on the weekend of September 9-10. Merging Asian arts, food and folklore, the two-day festival will showcase the myriad of culture that exists in Ottawa's Chinatown.

The event will take place in Cambridge Park, at the corner of Somerset Street West and Cambridge Street North. In addition to the plentiful displays of Asian culture, FestivASIA will also serve as a fundraiser - with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre.

We are looking for vendors, restauranteurs, artists and service-oriented groups to sell goods and/or promote their business on site. This is a wonderful opportunity to increase your visibility within the community and support a charity that has become a staple in the Ottawa area!

Festivities will begin at 11am and continue until dusk.
We are expecting between 15,000 and 20,000 visitors.

FestivASIA will be featured prominently in print and television media.

Tables will be made available to all registered businesses and vendors.

Prices range from $200 for one table or $400 for two.
Table are approximately 2'*6' in size.

Businesses are invited to set up on the morning of September 9. Security will be provided at night for vendors who wish to leave equipment on site.
