One-day electronic waste depot on Sunday, October 28
One-day electronic waste depot on Sunday, October 28
The City of Ottawa is hosting a one-day electronic waste collection depot from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2007. Items collected will be completely recycled, ensuring they are diverted from landfills. The depot is being held at the Robert O. Pickard Environmental Centre Technical Services Building, 655 Shefford Road (end of Shefford Road), north of Hwy 174, west of the Montreal Road exit. Electronic waste includes old personal computers, monitors, printers, keyboards and computer mice. Other electronic waste, including TVs, VCRs, DVD players, video game systems and cell phones can also be dropped off. These items will be recycled at a small cost to residents - $2 apiece for most items, $4 for monitors and $5 for entire computer systems and TV sets (28” or less). Only residential electronic waste will be accepted. TV sets larger than 28” will not be accepted. For more information visit the City’s Web site at ottawa.ca or call 3-1-1 (TTY: 613-580-2401). |
