32/64-Bit Linux Kernel Developer

The Xandros Core OS development team in Ottawa is currently looking to fill multiple positions for 32 and 64-Bit Linux Kernel Developers. To qualify, the following skills are essential:

• Strong knowledge of C and/or assembly language programming (minimum 4 years of experience).
• Past experience developing operating systems, device drivers (Windows, Linux/UNIX), or file systems.
• Strong familiarity with the Linux kernel architecture and source code.
• TCP/IP and networking knowledge.
• Proven track record working in software project and using source versioning system (such as CVS, SourceSafe, Rational ClearCase etc.)
• Experience in hardware controller programming.
• Expertise in IA-32, PCI, SATA and common PC bus architectures.
• A strong team player that is eager to share and exchange ideas with team mates.

Knowledge and experience with the following technologies is a bonus:

• Different file systems
• Debian and Red Hat Linux
• shell and Perl scripting
• 64-Bit architecture (IA-64 and AMD64) and programming experience
