为方便大家,将上面链接的内容copy下来。不过没有说这个捐款转给中国的总额有没有上限,比如1Million 加币?
Hi Andrew, I have some questions about the donation for China Earthquake. I will greatly appreciate if you can answer me ASAP because a lot of my friends are holding to donate for this. 1. If we donate today, how soon will the money goes to China? 2. We notice the following statement from Red Cross Canada: Should donations supporting a specific Red Cross disaster relief effort surpass the amount required, the remainder will be directed as follows: "Donations exceeding that required by Red Cross to respond to a specific Canadian disaster will be directed to the Canadian Disaster Relief Fund - a fund that provides support to people affected by future domestic disasters. Donations exceeding that required by Red Cross to respond to a specific International disaster will be directed to the International Disaster Relief Fund - a fund that provides support to people affected by future international disasters." Our question is: How much is the “amount required” defined for China Earthquake? And how far is current donation amount away from that limit? Hope to hear from you soon Thanks Here is the reply: Mr. Chen, Thank-you for your email inquiry. Donations to the Canadian Red Cross China earthquake response will be used to support emergency relief efforts already underway in Sichuan province. Canadian Red Cross donations to this response will be transferred to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies who will then distribute these funds to the Red Cross Society of China directly. At this point we are not in a position to know exactly when these funds will be transferred from the International Federation to the Red Cross Society of China. Be assured that any commitment you make today to help will go directly to those affected by the recent earthquake. The Red Cross does incur administration costs when it launches an appeal to respond to humanitarian relief. These are the costs associated with collecting funds, processing donations and tax receipts, working with partners, and communicating with donors and media. The costs are in line with other charities and can range from 5% to 15%. It is to early to tell or even project the amount needed because Red Cross Disaster teams are on route to assist Red Cross volunteers and staff already on the ground by providing food, water, and medical supplies. Assement of the situation is updated on the Red Cross website daily! Regarding any money left from this appeal going to the international fund? As you can appreciate more often than not disaster strikes with little or no warning. Because we have domestic and international relief fund established, the Red Cross can respond quickly to all disasters in Canada and around the globe. The fastest and easiest way to make your donation is by calling 1-800-418-1111 or on-line at www.redcross.ca I hope this answers your concerns. Please call me directly @ 519-631-1611 if you require further information. Thank-you for support and interest in the Red Cross. Andy |
