第五届“加华杯”乒乓球比赛报名截止

40多名选手将于5月18日在中华大厦角逐

第五届“加华杯”乒乓球比赛消息发布以来，得到了广大乒乓球运动爱好者的热烈响应。报名截止时(4月30日)已有40多名选手注册。他们中有上几届比赛的优胜者；有10多岁的青少年，也有年逾古稀的长者；有长年活跃于渥太华乒乓球场的铁杆球迷，也有初来乍到的学生和新手；除华裔外，还有其他族裔的朋友。预计本届比赛将同前几届一样，精彩激烈，绚丽纷呈。

按计划，比赛将於2008年5月18日（星期日）上午9时在中华大厦， 80 Florence Street (Bank street 以西， Gladstone Avenue 以北，与Kent street相交,http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=80+Florence+street,+Ottawa&sll=45.413876,-75.651855&sspn=0.050852,0.075359&ie=UTF8&ll=45.413394,-75.691252&spn=0.012713,0.028667&t=p&z=15&iwloc=addr, ) ) ，举行。第一阶段，小组循环，不分老幼性别，8个组的比赛在5张球台上同时进行；由此产生的前两名进入第二阶段的复赛/决赛。女子组和老年组的比赛将在第二阶段举行。

所有报名的选手，务必于比赛当天8点45分以前到达赛场，登记(交纳注册费), 热身。在比赛时，望大家服从裁判，遵守规则和赛程，文明礼貌，不大声喧哗，保持赛场整洁。组委会祝大家赛出好成绩，渡过一个愉快的时光。

As for a community event, we would expect all players to respect the referees and opponents, to keep the place tidy and quiet. Players are responsible for their own drinks and lunches. We wish all the players a success and have a wonderful time
