I am looking at a 2000 Passat. It shares a lot of parts with Audi A4.

Same 2.8 v6 Engine.
Same body.
What is the difference?

A4 is more luxury and the turbo has more power than Passat.

A4 quattro is ALL WHEEL DRIVE and Passat is back wheel drive.

The most difference is Passat is a economic family car and A4 is a luxury sport car.

Not really. Passat has 1.8T too. Passat has 4 wheel drive too.
But anyway, I think I will go with passat. It is about 1/2 of the price of the Audi A4 in similar configuration.
