还是多伦多的华人多啊。至少是渥太华华人人口的10倍吧？

如果能来，你会怀念多伦多的方便舒适的。

渥太华很好的城市，很漂亮，优点很多，我就说缺点了：
。安静得过分，你如果喜欢热闹，想要一大班朋友，吃喝玩乐，这里找不到，会闷出毛病的
。冬天比多伦多冷几度(近10度)，长一个月，冬天户外没有什么活动。
。中餐馆的饭和“中餐”差别很大，你如果喜欢中国饭不习惯洋快餐，找不到可口饭菜你会有饥寒交迫的感觉。
。中国人开的超市/百货店比较少，货品也不太全，你需要去洋人店买东西，这在渥村村民眼里很平常的，外来友邦人士往往找不到华人超市，分外惊诧。

我认识俩朋友从多伦多搬过来，刚来很不习惯，怨声载道的，不出一年，都离开渥太华了。

你这是想控制这里的华人人口，吓得ＬＺ不敢来了。

我就是想问问为啥大家都在渥太华 而不在多伦多发展

Having lived in Toronto for more than 15 years, I preferred the easy life style of Ottawa, traffic is easy and people are nicer.

In Toronto, you only have a major hwy 401 and Don Valley PWY and they are the bottle neck. Yes, there are a couple of east-west hwy further norther but they don't solve the traffic problem. Every time I go there now, I feel like suffocated by the traffic. Of course you could always pick an area closer to the place you work, but you still need to fight the traffic.

Once you live here in Ottawa, you don't want to go back there. Sure, you have more choice in grocery shopping but you need to think about your kids. Believe me, once they grow up, they don't like everything that is chinese.

At the end of the day though and as lungao said, you go wherever you could find a job .

不过这些都不是我在渥太华居住的原因，我的原因是就在这有工作，别的地儿找不到工啊。

这是硬道理！（跟着钱走。）

Many others already answered you, I lived in both cities, I like Ottawa more than Toronto. I just try to say something followed your questions.

消费水平: food is more expensive, especially Chinese food and it is not as good as in Toronto; car insurance is cheaper; clothing is similar; many 消费 & repairing are cost more;
房屋价格 : buy house is much cheaper; rent rooms is similar;
就业: more government job, most but not everyone 必须双语 and many you can study French after you get the job; looked as if more high-Tec job; less 餐馆,超市 job;
环境: more quiet and beautiful, clean, smaller, people nice, not so much traffic;
社区: not as many 社区 service as it in Toronto; many service are not free as it in Toronto;

我想你应该是同时申请多所学校，然后看谁要你，才决定去那里学习，当然多个offer就要好好考虑一下，城市，所学专业，在那里更好找工作。
很多人住在T,在这里学习，因为家在那边。很多人在T找到工作就搬过去。

if you want to move to Gatineau, 很简单，租个房子就行了，然后年底在这边保税，如果还没有工作，住在这边不错，费用便宜，车，保险，租金，生活费，然后到ottawa downtown也方便。。

Not sure about which school is better in this field.

It could be easier to find a job in this area in greater Toronto, I guess.

如果不考虑工作条件，只考虑生活条件，多伦多和渥太华是各有利弊，城市大小不同，方便程度不同，安静，安全程度不同。。。

基本上是鱼和熊掌不可兼得。
