Same as my experience with Hong Kong immigrants. About 80% of working age adults returned to Hong Kong about 5 years after landing. Now the second generation is starting to leave after finishing their studies here.

Honestly, those who stay in Canada are either too old (like me) or they came here for non-financial, non-political reasons. They simply like the lifestyle here regardless of financial rewards. This is also the case with most immigrants from developed countries.

I used to live in Vancouver too and I totally agree. I also find that racial discrimination against Chinese is the worst in Vancouver compared to any parts of Canada. After all, the Chinese head tax, Japanese internment, etc. were all started by BC politicians.

For America, I did not have the courage to try out different places at the time. As for Japan, because I was stupid. Now that I am older, I realize that I should have pursued my dreams when I was younger, and, after all, now I understand that it is always better to live among your own race.

If I chose to leave Hong Kong again, I would have chosen Singapore (first choice) or Japan, or honestly, if I had known how life is really like in the West, I would have not left at all.

This guy moved 500-600 homes at first year. I guess he must have a very competitive price to win that much business, as he does not have time to win reputation in that short period. That price decides his customers base is low income group, and his workers are people are seeking for $12/hr labour job. He made the decision base on his experience with those low income customers and workers.
