可以在申请入籍的时候，自己把名字改了吗？

我的姓名对老外来说太难发音了。

如果要改个在法律上认可的名字，在入籍时直接给自己改个名字就行了还是得到那里去办个手续？要回中国办什么证明吗？

好像不是因为婚姻关系改姓的话挺麻烦的，要出具未犯罪记录，在警察局按手印等等。我是听朋友这么说的，他也是因为名字发不清楚才改的。

Instead of changing your name, you can add yourself an English name, start to use it, put it on your bank account name, drivers license etc.

加个英文名字，有的时候填表的时候，自己都搞不清怎么填。熟悉的老外愿意叫顺口的名字，不熟悉的老外每次来找我，叫大名，周围的人都要讨论一下才知道是我。太麻烦了。

You have to apply for the name change in Ontario. You can download the application form and see more details. After that, you will receive the Change of Name certificate. If you want to change your name when you apply for the citizenship, you need this certificate. Otherwise, you have to use your old name which appears on your official document, like SIN card, driver's license... That's exactly what I wanted to do when I applied for the citizenship years ago. Unfortunately I couldn't because I didn't have the certificate and I didn't have time to apply for it.

等拿到那个certificate再申请入籍，还得改枫叶卡的名字吧？这中间得有差不多一年多的时间。这期间能回国吗？
