Snow squalls this evening into tonight. A low pressure system is producing snow squalls over Lake Huron and Georgian Bay as well as bursts of snow along its main cold front which is sweeping across Extreme Eastern Ontario this evening. The cold front is located from Brockville to Ottawa at 9 PM, and the associated intense snow bands are weakening as they move away from the moisture source of Lake Ontario. They are still strong enough to warrant a warning with gusty winds reducing visibilities down to less than one kilometre, but it appears the warning will be ended soon as it weakens further. Locally 2 cm of snow and wind gusts to 60 km/h may be expected. Motorists are advised to use caution due to poor driving conditions. Conditions are expected to improve rapidly after the snow bands pass. Over regions located near Lake Huron and Georgian Bay such as Grey - Bruce and Barrie, lake effect snow squalls will continue tonight. Local snow amounts of 20 to 30 cm are expected in a localized band southeast of Lake Huron. The band in the Barrie area is expected to sweep through the region by late evening.
