Summary
Freezing rain over many regions but slow to move into Ottawa.
Details
At 1:20 PM radar showed a large area of freezing rain to the west of Ottawa and a second area of freezing rain developing east of the city. Meanwhile Ottawa international airport has remained dry while Gatineau airport reported freezing rain for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile several hours of freezing rain has occurred is places such as Petawawa. Current indications are that Ottawa will remain generally free of precipitation until about 2:30 PM - at which time temperatures are expected to lie close to the freezing mark - resulting in a mix of freezing rain and rain across the region. Precipitation will become all rain by 5:00 PM as temperatures continue to rise. The threat for freezing rain will end in all of the warned regions by early evening. Environment Canada will continue to monitor this situation closely.
