Join the Foundation Engineering team in NOSTG as a Development Test and Automation Engineer.
We are looking for talented individuals to participate on a project team of engineers involved in test and automation development of platform independent software features in an OS converged environment such as NX-OS. Cisco® NX-OS Software is a data center-class operating system built with modularity, resiliency, and serviceability at its foundation, and supports the Cisco Nexus® Family of hardware-based network switches, which include Cisco Nexus 7000, 5000, 4000, and 1000V Series Switches and Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders
Successful candidates would need to demonstrate their ability to analyze feature requirements and design specifications, write effective “white box” or “black box” test automation strategies and plans, execute and automate test cases, create automation infrastructure/libraries, validate code paths, analyze and debug issues.
White/Gray box test automation includes open API testing, robustness testing, performance and scale testing, model based testing, state machine verification, analyzing data flow, control flow, information flow, coding practices, and exception and error handling within the system, to test the intended and unintended software behavior. The ideal candidate will have experience with TCL, Test Methodologies, and C/C++ programming. Typically requires MSEE/CS combined solid understanding of network protocol or related experience
Required Skills:
-BS, MS or above in CS/EE or equivalent
- Solid background in SW development, test, automation, and test execution
- Strong programming skills, C/C++, Perl/TCL/Expect
- Experience with working in Unix/Linux environments is required
- Knowledge of Cisco 3K/4K/6K switches, wireless, switching/routing, TCP/IP concepts are highly desirable
- Networking background, hands-on experience, familiarity with Cisco IOS devices is desired.
- Knowledge with test equipment such as IXIA, Agilent, Spirent
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication, both written and spoken.
- Ability to multitask, solve problems of moderate scope, exercise latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments
- Self-motivated and driven engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality work
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills
