最近我在417上开车，顺手刮了一下胡子，正好被opp抓到。然后被给了一张careless driving 的ticket 罚了我490刀 并且扣了6分。 我觉得实在太夸张了。本人这次还是第一次被警察抓。 我是来了不是很久的留学生，也不知道如何处理这样大的ticket， 请好心人提供一些帮助和建议。谢谢大家

Who do you think JUDGE will believe? Driver or policeman? This is like caught using cell phone while driving....
We live in Canada.
Also, if LZ actually has "顺手刮了一下胡子", then that is a fact, maybe LZ go to court, and when that policeman arrives, ask him/her to reduce fine...

Judge 谁也不信。 在庭上你不需要证明你是对的，只需要证明警察的证据都有疑点。 如果上庭 你应该考虑的是警察会有什么证据， 比如说会不会出庭作证， 还是就能用警察笔记，如果是笔记， 上庭前要把那个要过来看一下。 看看有什么漏洞。

We live in a democratic country. Policeman has to provide evidence. "警察笔记" is the evidence. If is quite unlikely that policeman forgot to write down what he saw, that is a standard procedure.
"比如说会不会出庭作证" - LZ has to count on LUCK. If a policeman shows up to give evidence, that policeman collects two hours of overtime, again, the chance of NOT showing up is pretty thin. Maybe LZ can find a ticket fighter, don't count on luck.

Find a ticket fighter! Google Ottawa Ticket fighter. Some of them are ex-policemen, some of them are paralegal.
