I totally agree with what you said, Canadian economy is totally dictated by Oil. But our Oil was marked as dirty Oil. What would happen if US denied the keystone pipeline? Besides Oil, I don't know anything else that we could sell well to the world. Canada has a huge export deficit this year. Plus I don't know how much of a private sector left in Ottawa. Is there another high tech corportation that is competitive in the world? Looks like Canadians only have Lululemon left.

If the economy tumbled as you predicted, I think Immigrants will take lots of pressue as well. Is RBC outsourcing a sign?

没有那么恐怖，加拿大的经济从来就不是以自主创新为主，资源丰富也总不是坏事，在油价20多美元的几十年里，加拿大的日子也不差。加拿大的真正优势是安全的周边，良好的自然环境，稳定的人文政治，这些都是吸引投资要素。油价和黄金高涨时，政府多了些零花钱，至于老百姓也未必有多大好处。美元和加币的汇率从10几年前的1.6到现在的几乎对等，并没有引起很多人担心的经济崩盘。加拿大的未来不会太好，也不会太差，在发达国家里比上不足，比下有余。 加拿大要实现真的腾飞，必须有一个前提，人口大幅增长，至少超过1个亿 。。。

If the Oil price tumbled, what would be the largest impact to Canada economy? Interest rate would never climb up. Deficit will grow deeper. Export will be horrible. If export is bad, then the domestic consumption will be key for the economy. If the house market crashed as you predicted, it will be fatal, since real estate is playing a critical role in our domestic economy. How would the bank perform?
