A POLICE dog 'wrote' a witness statement after prosecution officials repeatedly demanded it provide evidence for a court case.

The pooch - called Peach - was asked by dozy Crown Prosecution Service staff to recount details of an arrest where it assisted.
They wrote to "PC Peach" demanding a response, to which his handler explained there was no PC Peach but only a PD Peach - which stood for Police Dog.
But when the demands didn’t stop his handler lost patience and penned this statement on behalf of the canine cop, complete with paw print 'signature': “I chase him. I bite him. Bad man. He tasty. Good boy. Good boy Peach.”
The evidence (below), published on several police Twitter accounts including West Yorkshire and Durham forces, states that the age of the witness is ’four’ and that his number is PD4341.
It reads:

Paws for thought ... PD Peach's statement

The statement was revealed on the Cop Humour and One Police pages on Facebook pages before spreading quickly across the web - sparking a complaint from the CPS.
The initial post stated: “CPS demanded a statement from PC Peach, even after being told he was a PD (police dog).
“They were told several times Peach was actually a police dog but insisted on a written statement so the case handler sent them this.”
Hundreds of people including many cops have commented on the photo of the statement. PC Andy Hill, of Staffordshire Police, shared the photo on his Facebook page stating: “Absolutely LOVE this!”
PC Mark Tissington, of West Midlands Police, who is believed to the first officer to share the picture of the witness form, has referred himself to the internal discipline unit.
