Employment in the capital region slipped to 695,600, down from 707,300 in March. That is a 1.7-per-cent drop in the number of people employed in the nation’s capital month-over-month. It is also a 2.7-per-cent drop when compared to the number of employed people in the capital a year ago.

Statistics Canada reported that public service employment dropped 10.6 per cent when compared to the same month last year. There are now 110,600 people employed in public service jobs.

- 对于政府类, 很多减少的职位是退休, 政府很多所谓裁人就是 用退休人员去顶人头缩减指标.
- 对于私人企业, 很多裁下来的人流向自雇.
