门前的小树能不能移调?

看到我们房子周围好多人屋前都没种树的,想问一下我们家那小树可不可以移掉呢?因为想把部分草地铺砖,需要向什么单位作申请吗?

If the tree is in front of your house, you may need to apply from CITY of Ottawa. The tree is not your property -- That is belong to the CITY.

If it is in your backyard, it could be Ok to remove it.

"把部分草地铺砖" most likely will against By law of city of ottawa. You'd better check with by-law office of city of ottawa before you do something like that.

Most of time the tree in the front of your house is NOT CITY property!!!
Check the distance between tree and road shoulder, if it is more than 5 meters. Then it very likely has nothing to do with City.
Could you cut any tree in your property then? Answer is NO.
If diameter of the tree is larger than 50cm then you couldn't cut it.
For most of tree, it means about 30 years old. I bet it isn't your case.
Any smaller tree than that, just cut it.

如果在city规划的界限之内，要通知city，如果在线外，即离你的house比较近的地方，应该可以自行处理。

草坪可以随意的处理，不需要申请。
