SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Apple Inc. /quotes/zigman/68270/quotes/nls/aapl AAPL +1.06% sent out media invitations Tuesday morning for a Sept. 10 event at its headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., that is expected to feature the company's next iPhone devices. "This should brighten everyone's day," the invites read, saying nothing about the specific products expected to be introduced. Analysts widely expect Apple to unveil an updated version of the iPhone 5 as well as a new model for lower-end markets that has been dubbed the iPhone 5C. Apple often hosts its product events at larger venues in San Francisco, but unveiled the iPhone 4S at its headquarters in October of 2011. Apple shares were last trading up 1.4% at $493.94.
