Ottawa Table Tennis Players,
Starting in October, an event table tennis players can be excited about! The pongshop.ca league Division A will take place on Thursday evenings and Division B will compete Sunday evenings. The new three versus three format includes more matches than before. Do you have what it takes?
The attached prospectus details the upcoming pongshop.ca Ottawa Table Tennis League and how you can sign-up as an individual or team. Individuals will be placed on a waiting list, until a team can be formed. Incomplete teams will be filled by an appropriate player from the waiting list. Teams/individuals who register, pay and show proof of TTCAN Membership will be slotted in first.
Clubs are encouraged to form teams. Teams are encouraged to wear uniforms.
Improvements from the summer league:
• Each team will play each other team twice, instead of once as before.
• Players will play up to 4 matches per team match, meaning more matches and more fun!
• The gym will be divided into three courts plus one practice court.
• Service rules will be enforced. Players must pay particular attention that balls must be tossed vertically at least 6 inches from the palm. The scorekeeper is responsible to make the call of incorrect service. Each repeat offence will result in one point for the opponent.
• Ratings posted at the beginning of the rating cycle (regularly the first week of each month).
• For each team match, one team is designated the “home team”, which is responsible for scorekeeping.
• Teams are 3 players plus up to 2 substitutes. Tighter knit. More likely to field a full team.
