Police arrest 16 men in Vanier john sweep

OTTAWA — Police laid 13 criminal charges in a two-day john sweep in Vanier and arrested 16 men, including one man who was armed with a stun gun.
Police said 11 men arrested during the sweep on Monday and Tuesday qualified for a pre-charge diversion program, which includes John school to teach them about the effects of prostitution on the community.
The other five face several charges, including communicating for the purpose of prostitution, mischief and solicitation.
One of the men was also charged with refusing to provide a breath sample, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon.
