Ottawa North - Kanata - Orléans issued

Severe wind chill forecast tonight.

Arctic air associated with a bitterly cold ridge of high pressure continues to seep southwards across Southern and Eastern Ontario. This is expected to generate overnight lows ranging from minus 20 to minus 30. In addition a low pressure system near the Lower Great Lakes is expected to generate moderate northeasterly winds tonight and into Thursday. The combination of winds and Arctic air is expected to generate severe wind chill values tonight and then quite possibly again for Thursday night.

It is advised to dress warmly and cover any exposed skin as much as possible when heading outdoors.
