Kids, adults, Batman enjoy first Winterlude weekend

OTTAWA — Free hugs from Batman were among many activities a crowd of skaters encountered on the Rideau Canal Saturday as part of Winterlude’s kickoff weekend. Decked out in full Dark Knight regalia, Carl Normandeau — “the actual Batman” according to one of a dozen friends dressed as Robin — was filling out a checklist for his bachelor’s party.
