Please accept our sincere thanks for your kindness and generosity to the Liu’s family. Without your financial help, Madam Fanyan Bu and the two lovely kids could not even survive from this most difficult period in their life time.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that we have received $104,050.00 in donations. This amount has far exceeded over our expectations. In order for us to make the best possible use of the funds not only to help the Liu’s and at the same time to meet the wishes of the donors, we are sending you a letter (or an email) on behalf of Fanyan Bu, the Widow of the late Yue Liu, for your opinion about how you would like your donation to be used. Your wish will be strictly followed under the named options below.
Please reply with ONLY one of the following options:
A. I would like to transfer my donation in full to a third-party charity:
1. CHEO Foundation：http://www.cheofoundation.com/
2. Lifesaving Society：http://www.lifesavingsociety.com/
(Note: Please note your donation will be transferred by an In Trust account for CHEO or Lifesaving Society on behalf of the widow, Fanyan Bu. This account is opened and used for this specific transaction only and nothing else.
Please also note: You will not receive any Tax Receipt either from CHEO or Lifesaving Society. If you do want a Charity donation receipt, please choose Option B below and donate on your own.)
B. I do not want to donate my fund to the Liu’s and I want the fund back.
C. I would like to donate my fund to Liu’s family for them to spend as they wish.
Our apology to those anonymous donors who donate by cash or by check with no name and address on the check. Due to the reason that we do not have your contact number, we will not be able to reach you. If you are one of these donors, please get in touch with us with your proof of donation not later than June 8, 2014. A refund check will be mailed to you accordingly. Your quick responses will be greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to make your own final decision and send your choice by email, fax, or perosn at your earliest convenience. Thank you again on behalf of the Liu’s for your kind support to the Liu’s during their extremely tough time period.
1. Method of Refund:
a. Any donation by PayPal or e-transfer will be refunded in the same manner;
b. For donations by check, we will void the check and email you a scanned version of it, but we will not be returning the original check;
c. For cash donations, we will refund by cash, unless you prefer another refund method that is more convenient for you.
