help! Beijing Nortel job offer, what kind of visa we apply to US for Canadian Citizen

Job offer from Beijing Nortel, then send to US for training. But now I am in Ottawa, status Canadian Citizen. So what kind of visa I should apply for?

Actually I totally get confused, hopefully someone can help.

Do you receive salary from US Nortel? If not, I don't think you need a visa to US. Canadian citizens are freely to travel to the states. If the offer was from US Nortel, you need a visa.

whenever you get pay in US, you need a TN visa
