地点:就在Kanata - South March Highlands (SMH),地点非常好,有湖水,有动物,有植物,路线有些复杂,这条线路大约18km,可以走3-4小时!也可以选择走1小时,1.5小时路线。Here is a map and a video of SMH. Meet at Klondike Rd. and Second Line Rd..

The South March Highlands is a unique area in Kanata, 15 minutes west of downtown Ottawa. It is a conservation forest that features outcroppings of the Canadian Shield as well as numerous wetland areas. The South March Highlands is also bordered by dense urban development. It is currently used for mountain biking, hiking, and orienteering in the summer as well as cross country skiing and snow-shoeing in the winter months.
You can park your car just off of Second Line road, near the intersection of Klondike road. The trails are well defined, and mostly within deep forested areas. There are some marsh lands, with board walks leading over ponds that are teaming with wildlife. Once you get out of earshot of the main road on the south side of the main trail, you really feel like you are in the countryside far away from civilization. A real treat especially considering being in such close proximity to a metropolitan area.
All is quiet and peaceful, until of course the next mountain biker comes barrelling around the next turn towards you. Note these Highland paths are also considered excellent and technically challenging mountain biking trails, which regularly host tournaments for local mountain bikers.
The trail system has natural links to the gravel recreational pathways in North Kanata. South of Terry Fox Drive, there is a continuation of these trails, in a region that is slightly less densely forested.
