Please update your CV and Emphasise on the Job you are applying for if you want. Like more experience techniques on the job needed. Personality is also important put some hobbies or activities you always do(Sports; music if you like). Employer here will prefer a person with more EQ than IQ (Of course not stupid). 2 Pages maximum not too long.
Cover Letter: Firstly indicate which job position you are applying for then why you are qualified for /interested in this job. There is whole bunch of samples you can find through googling.
To successfully find a job we should prepare different CV for different job. It works for me very well.
This is only my personal humble idea and should apply to looking for a job in general.
