Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning of significant snowfall in the capital region in the next few days.
Beginning Tuesday evening and lasting until Thursday morning, an east coast storm will sweep down from the St. Lawrence River and cause up to 25 centimetres of snow, according to the weather office.
We should also expect a risk of freezing rain Tuesday night.
Environment Canada warned that travel may be impacted throughout the storm and to monitor the forecast at www.weatheroffice.gc.ca for more details.
