Ottawa – Bring the family to the new Minto Recreation Complex - Barrhaven on Saturday, January 17 for a day of fun activities.
Residents can enjoy free public swimming from 10 a.m. to noon and free public skating from 1 to 4 p.m. courtesy of the architectural firm Perkins + Will. Please note that all skaters 10 and under, as well as weak skaters of any age, must wear a CSA approved helmet.
Other events throughout the day include a lane swim and public swims with special activities added. The gymnasium is also available with recreational activities for preschoolers, families, youth and adults. Two tours per hour highlighting the LEED features of the building will be held by Perkins + Will, and Melissa Black, City of Ottawa public art programmer and Jonathan Shaughnessy, Associate Curator, National Gallery of Canada will also provide a guided tour of the of the new public art commission.
Come meet Mayor Jim Watson and Councillor Jan Harder, who will be onsite at 10 a.m.
