Five people were arrested on Thursday after drug raids on two Gatineau apartments on Augusta and Laurier streets.
Police seized almost $60,000 in cash, 80 grams of marijuana, 250 grams of cocaine, more than 1,000 methamphetamine pills, among other drugs and over a dozen pieces of electronic equipment like cellphones and laptops.
A Hyundai Accent and Mercedes were also seized.
The five suspects face charges of trafficking, drug possession, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of stolen property.
A male and a female between the ages of 17 and 23 were arrested at the Laurier address. They were released on the promise that they will appear in court on a later date.
Police also arrested a woman aged 19 and two men, aged 21 and 34 related to the Augusta street apartment, when they were stopped in their vehicles. They were to appear in court Friday.
Police said one of the apartments was well known to investigators and some of the people arrested were on drug squad’s radar for some time.
